I studied some foriegn languages in high school and college. The basic grammar concepts help to learn any language, but I have to continue to use the language to be able remember it.
I've used the online versions of the Rosetta Stone for French and German. I like it, because you get to see the words and hear it and you can record yourself to hear how similar you sound.
For spanish I spend time with a lot of spanish speaking people and learn as I go. I did get some books for the grammatical parts like past and future tenses.
Thank you
Thanks everyone for your ideas. I thought I'd take up learning Italian since I have an Italian ancestory.
A Fun Adventure
Enjoy your endeavor! Language is sooooo fascinating.
To remember
In my homeschooling group there were a few other kids that were learning foreign languages.
What I think helped us to remember and learn more was we would use whichever language we were learning with each other.
